Happy Anniversary, Tate

As this is being published I’m on a golf course. waiting out a snowstorm in the Canadian Rockies.

Unfortunately, while I’m out on a golf course in a snowstorm halfway across the continent, I’m missing one of the most important days of the year:

Today is my three year wedding anniversary.

Sean and Tate Wedding 668

My wife Tate and I on our wedding day.

In my re-introduction post last week I mentioned the three people that had the biggest business impact on my life over the last decade.

However, greater than any contribution by those guys is the support that my wife Tate has shown me throughout the years.

You see, for as good as things are now, I wasn’t always the easiest person to deal with (imagine that).

When the opportunity came to move to Thailand, she didn’t really get a choice in the matter.

I told her I was going, and that I needed to do it for myself – which was true.

But no matter how hard I made it on us, she was always there to support me.

Before moving back to the States she flew out to Asia for a month to travel around with me.

When I needed a place to live when I got back, she let me stay with her and was a huge support while I worked on growing the business.

When I said I wanted to pursue a quest to play the top 100 golf courses in the world, she didn’t bat an eye, she was all for it.

When I have the chance to take a sponsored trip to a bucket list destination (that she also would like to visit) and miss our anniversary, her response was “of course you have to go!”

I can’t imagine a more patient partner, and I certainly can’t imagine anyone who would be more understanding and supportive of my weird goals and quests.

I don’t talk about relationship stuff on this blog as much as maybe I should.

But today, on our anniversary I want to recognize the absolutely crucial role she has played in my success, business, and happiness. Without her, I have no idea where I (or this site) would be.

So Tate, I’m sorry that I’m missing our anniversary. But I promise to make it up to you soon. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and our relationship over the years, and I promise to do everything I can to repay the favor in the years to come.

I love you.
